DO WE HAVE TO GO TO SCHOOL TO BE SUCCESSFUL?

Throughout the world, children between 4 and 18 years old grow up in schools where lessons are optional and kids can make the rules. Schools where they only learn what they want to learn, where there is absolutely no rigid schedule, no exams, no homework... All in all, (almost) total freedom.

Let’s meet some of their alumni…

THE FILM

A movie to reflect on education, rethink the meaning of life and how we wish to live it.

We listen to their stories, meet their families, friends and employers, visit their old schools and follow them in the quest for the job of their dreams : in Argentina, Spain, England and France. What type of challenges are they facing now that they got into the « real adult world »?

ALL PARENTS WISH TO GIVE THE BEST TO THEIR KIDS

“The best” for them to be successful in life

“The best” for them to be happy

BUT, WHAT IS “THE BEST”?

Pursuing my dreams gives four answers to that question.

It’s a journey into four different life stories which rest upon four definitions of the words “success” and « happiness ».

LE FILM

4 SCHOOLS, 4 COUNTRIES, 4 LIFE STORIES

All together, we wonder about the impact that their education has had on their vision of the world. We try to figure out if growing up free has made them become different children and adults. What does it mean for them to "succeed in life"? "To be a fulfilled adult"? What do they reckon the purpose of school is? And besides, what is a school..?
